Drew Brees has definitely proved himself again.  In yesterdays game against the Eagles, Brees threw  311 yards for 3 touch downs giving the Saints another week scoring 40 some points in a game.  In the first 2 games of the regular season, Brees has thrown 9 touchdown passes to not just one but several different receivers: Jeremy Shockey for 2 tds, Devery Henderson had 5 catches for 103 yards,  Marques Colston, Lance Moore and Pierre Thomas who is due back on the field next week.

Why is Drew Brees the #1 quarterback in the NFL? His stats say it all, so far this season Brees has completed 51 of 68 passes for a total of 669 yards for 9 touch downs.  During his time with the New Orleans Saints, he has been elected to three Pro Bowls while being named 2004 Comeback player of the Year, 2006 All-Pro Team, 2006 Walter Payton NFL Man of the Year Award recipient, and 2008 NFL Offensive Player of the Year.  Wow !!

He is a local favorite as well.  In New Orleans he and his wife have founded the Brees Dream Foundation in 2003 and have raised and/or committed over $4.5 million to help advance cancer research, care for cancer patients, and help rebuild schools, parks, playgrounds, and athletic fields in New Orleans, San Diego, and Purdue communities.  His commitment to the rebuilding of New Orleans and the surrounding ares in the aftermath of Katrina have been paramount.  Drew Brees I applaude you.  For mor info on Brees Dream go to www.drewbrees.com.   kudos to Sean Peyton, Charles Grant and the entire Saints organization for all of their love and support they given to hurricane victims and the commitment they made to stay in New Orleans.

Back to football, with McNabb out for the game Kolb did a good job throwing for 391 yards and two touchdowns.  The Eagles just couldn’t handle the Saints offensive team.  And the Saints defense was on the ball (literally) keeping the Eagles from gaining ground.  Kolb needs to prove himself a bit more if he wants to keep playing, with Michael Vick set to start in December and the return of NcNabb, Kolb needs to step up his game, which I hope he does.  I like to root for the underdog, and in my opinion, McNabb and Vick are over rated.

It appears the Saints have come into their own this season.  And for all of you heathens out there who don’t ” believe” shame on you.  It is predicted by some that the Saints will be in the Super Bowl in 2013 to be held in New Orleans.  But why put expectations that far in advance?  Why can’t they play in this years Super Bowl and again in 2013?  It could happen, anything is possible when you belive !!

Tell me if you BELIEVE………

And that is par for the course
